IETC Zimbabwe

IETC Zimbabwe (subsidiary of Export Trading Group) was started in 2008 with an initial focus on agri-commodity trading on the import side. We have since been developing as a fully integrated supply chain model and aim to grow and process agri-commodities in Zimbabwe. Smallholder contract farming has been in operation since 2011. IETC s smallholder soya scheme model includes input loan, extension support, business training and a market guarantee. IETC is at the sustainability phase of smallholder farming and has linked its successful farmers to micro-finance institutions while providing a ready market for the produce. 1000+ farmers have been contracted since the beginning of the scheme and over 3,500 smallholders have been supported by IETC s agri-depots where both contracted and non-contracted farmers sell their soya beans, maize and sugar beans to IETC with tonnages as high as 28000MT per year for soya and 14000MT for maize. The scheme is linked to IETC s soya processing plant (low cost protein alternative for local consumption). IETC spearheads value-added processing of soya beans, cotton, wheat, maize, cooking oil, stock feeds and down-pack processing for local consumer needs.
