World Vision is leading the implementation of a five-year USAID-funded ENSURE (Enhancing Nutrition, Stepping Up Resilience and Enterprise) Program in partnership with CARE, SNV, SAFIRE and ICRISAT. The program is designed to profoundly and sustainably impact 215,000 vulnerable and food-insecure Zimbabweans in Manicaland and Masvingo Provinces. ENSURE focuses primarily on empowering and capacitating poor, rural households to become more food secure through the following strategic objectives: (i) Improving nutrition among women of reproductive age and children under the age of five; (ii) Increasing household income though improved agricultural production and marketing and (iii) Increasing resilience to food insecurity of communities via improved disaster risk reduction and natural resource management.
